MSK injections was established to address the needs within the MSK community for relevant training as well as meeting the professional requirements for CPD. There are many providers offering the initial qualification in injection therapy – but after that it seems the clinician is left alone to devise their own CPD – if at all. So that’s where MSK injections step in – to provide a range of option modules or curated days for clinicians to update their knowledge, refine their skills and raise standards in practice.
Injection therapy has been a key part of our teams’ clinical practice for over 30 years – working both within the NHS, private practice and professional sport. Our Lead Tutor, Paul Hattam, has been a clinical educator leading the UK’s largest injection therapy programme and helping over 2000 clinicians achieve competency in this important therapy. He recalls:
“Since I’ve been teaching injection skills, the clinical and professional landscape has changed beyond recognition. The advent of imaging, changes to prescribing law, concerns about the effects of drugs on tissues and the arrival of other injection therapies have transformed practice and increased the need for clinicians to update their knowledge. There is also a professional requirement to keep up to date of course too. I’ve been lucky to be in a clinical and teaching environment where I have been able to continually refine and develop my injection skills but that’s not the case for everyone. I am constantly receiving emails from people who want to revise their injection techniques and advance in their practice”.
Whether you are just beginning your injection training or are an injection pro – there will definitely be something for you!
